Miscellaneous Virginia papers [manuscript], 1871-1922.

The collection contains a memoranda book belonging to a King William County, Va., lawyer pertaining to circuit court cases, 1871-1872. A "Tribute of Love" honoring University of Virginia alumnus Victor Sharp Metcalf who died while in Naval training at Hampton Roads, 1918, is accomapnied by two letters to Metcalf from R. Warner Wood and W.L. Price. Letters from poet Arthur Wallace Peach to Mary Evelyn Stiles and "dear Virginia friend" [also Stiles?], 1920-1922, send an autographed book, regret an invitation to the opening of a children's library in memory of Father John Banister Tabb, agrees to look at poems and explains fees for readings and lectures. A register of service lists hours worked by various Red Cross volunteers at a Richmond Va., canteen, May to July, 1919.
